This term
at CPS...
It felt like just the other day we were
welcoming you all to the start of the
year and here we are halfway
through the year already. I cannot
believe that we are at the end of the
2nd term; they say time flies when
you are having fun.
And what a fun-filled term we have
had, each day is an adventure filled
with discovery, exploration and
learning. I am reminded of a quote
by Albert Einstein,
“Creativity is
intelligence having fun”; and how
fortunate our children are at CPS
that they get to be creative and
intelligent little beings who have fun
every day. In one simple analogy, Einstein
captured the essence of
intelligence and inspired many to
embrace the creative process,
something that happens daily
here at CPS.
Creativity expands our perceptions
and along with expanded
perceptions come new ways of
problem-solving, making
connections, asking questions and
finding interesting ways to
approach tasks. Being creative
allows us to look at things from a
unique perspective. So much of
what we do on a daily basis
encourages your child to be
creative and engage their thinking
skills to acquire and develop their
knowledge.
Creativity is not just about doing
art but extends to all aspects of
learning. During educational
games, your child engages in
creative solutions to play the game
or complete the task. During the
outside time, their imaginations run
wild with fun ways to play, and
problem-solving and resolving
issues that may arise socially. The
Morning Ring is a wonderful time of
the day when they share their
knowledge yet acquire so much
more through discussion,
interaction and discovery.

The staff and I loved being part of
these mornings as the children’s
smiles and laughter brought such
joy to us all. Our annual Fun Walk,
as always, was a wonderful
morning enjoyed by the CPS
community.
The children are enjoying the new
swing set which is the latest
upgrade to the garden area. The
addition of two round tyre swings
has added a whole new dimension
to their outside play and lots of
socializing is taking place while
happily swinging round and round.
While being creative and intelligent,
we still find time to enjoy a few
special events. We loved having the
moms for their pamper morning
and being treated to expertly
painted nails, hair do’s and
massages. And our dads just loved
Wendy’s rooster brood and the
opportunity to play a little soccer,
do a craft and most importantly
socialize with the other dads.
I hope you all enjoyed reading your
child’s report – it is a wonderful
time to celebrate all they have
achieved. We are proud of every
one of them and hope you are too.
The report you receive is an
ongoing reflection of your child’s
development and growth. At the
start of each term, the teacher
assesses the aims and objectives
they wish to achieve with your child
according to their age group and
developmental norms. This enables
the teacher to plan her daily
program around activities that
teach, strengthen and extend your
child in all areas of development.
We place great importance on daily
observations so that your child’s
progress is closely monitored to
ensure that any area of concern is
worked on, and areas of strength
are extended upon.
We look forward to welcoming you
back in the 3rd term, which is going
to be another busy one, especially
with Grandparents Day and the
concert happening in the same
week. Enjoy the holidays and
please be safe on the roads should
you be traveling somewhere
wonderful.
Warmest regards,
Lara & the CPS Team
